All over the West in many localities – visitors to an area have Lodging options beyond staying in tiny Hotel Rooms with just a bed and a bathroom and a TV.
The options include Suite Hotels of various sizes that have cooking and dining facilities for the guest’s personal use. Although similar to the designs of hotels (long in-common hallways and such), the accommodations themselves are more spacious then hotel rooms. There’s a small sitting room area for relaxing and entertaining – and the mini-kitchen provides convenience as well as the potential of significant vacation savings by not being forced to eat every meal out in expensive restaurants.
In other Western locations (especially Europe) – so-called Bed & Breakfast facilities have become very popular. Here you’re staying in room inside of a private house with almost always the landlord in residency at the home. The advantage of ‘B&Bs’ is that instead of being able to visit with a front desk clerk for local information – you can visit and socialize and learn from someone who actually lives there.
In much of Asia – there are not very many Suite Hotels or Bed & Breakfast facilities. In the Philippines – there are even less.
Foreigner-Friendly Homes are a different concept - expressly designed for foreigner visitors. If you are able to stay in a Foreigner-Friendly home – you have the whole house to yourself. The homes cater to Western tastes. You’ll be in a foreigner friendly neighborhood.
It’s like having your own vacation home in the Philippines that you can use for a week or two.
Oh – you’ll still know you’re in the Philippines – but your visit will be more pleasant because you’ll have more space – and more privacy. Your nightly cost will be less then most desirable hotels rooms that you might opt to stay at in the area. Use your savings to increase your ‘pasalubong’ (gifts) for family & friends.
Please Note: Foreigner-Friendly homes are only available in stay-blocks of:
Seven (7) days – Fourteen (14) Days – or Thirty (30) Days
